Chashama Gallery at 1155 Avenue of the Americas was transformed into an immersive, colorful landscape for the opening of GRASSLANDS, a solo exhibition by Zambian painter Mwinga Sinjela, presented by SHEER and The Formula Collective. The vibrant debut features a striking collection of Afrofuturist works celebrating Black and Queer identities, inspired by Sinjela’s love of science fiction, comics, and animation.

This summer, SHEER was proud to present the works of Nia Winslow, a self-taught mixed media collage artist based in Brooklyn, at the Selina in Chelsea. Nia’s work vibrantly portrays the dynamic experiences of the Black Diaspora through different textures, cuttings and clippings to illuminate figures, moods and stories.
